The plan

Suomenlinna
A UNESCO sea fortress on six islands, 15 minutes by public ferry — a normal transit ticket.
Löyly or Allas sauna
Public saunas on the sea; sweat, then jump in the Baltic. Year-round.
Market Square & Old Market Hall
Herring, reindeer, salmon soup and the harbour coffee ritual.
Oodi library
A wooden wave of a building the whole city treats as its living room.
Design District
Marimekko, Iittala and 200 small shops in a walkable grid.

Book before you fly

Löyly & the public saunas
Löyly and Allas take bookings and fill on winter evenings; the wood-fired Kotiharjun rarely needs one.
