The plan

Santa Claus Village
Cross the Arctic Circle line, meet Santa year-round, post a letter with the Arctic postmark.
Husky and reindeer sledding
The two classic Lapland drives — reindeer slow and silent, huskies fast and loud.
Arktikum museum
Half-buried under a glass tube, the best explanation of the Arctic anywhere.
Aurora hunting
Sep–Mar, out of town where the sky is dark.
Ice floating & snowshoes
Float in a survival suit on a frozen river — absurd and unforgettable.

Book before you fly

Santa Claus Village
Free to enter; the Santa meeting is free, the photograph is not, and December sells out for everything else.
